The Vitamino Color Spectrum mask is a weekly intensive treatment from the new generation L'Oréal Professionnel Serie Expert line. It is used on days without a neutralizing shampoo, instead of conditioner or in addition to it, providing a deeper effect on the hair fiber. The key difference from the classic Vitamino Color mask is the acidic system Ferulic Acid + Citric Acid 2.5%, which not only nourishes and smooths but also actively fixes dye molecules inside the cortex, preserving all 5 color parameters: shine, intensity, contrast, shade, and brightness. The formula is free from synthetic dyes and alcohol, suitable for all types of colored hair.

Key features and benefits

1. Ferulic Acid — a powerful antioxidant of plant origin, the key active component of the Spectrum line. It neutralizes free radicals generated by UV radiation and thermal stress that destroy synthetic dye molecules. In the mask, the concentration of ferulic acid is higher than in the shampoo: the product is designed for longer contact with the hair (3–5 minutes), providing a deeper antioxidant effect.
2. Glycolic Acid — an AHA with the smallest molecular weight. It penetrates the cortex and strengthens hydrogen and ionic bonds of keratin from within, making the hair structure denser and less permeable to pigment leaching. In the mask, it additionally smoothes the cuticle surface, enhancing shine.
3. Citric Acid 2.5% — present in a significant concentration, ranking third in the INCI list. It closes the cuticle scales in a slightly acidic environment, neutralizes unwanted warm tones, and retains dye molecules inside the hair. This component provides the characteristic "toning" effect of the mask — with each use, the cool tone lasts longer.
4. Aminopropyl Dimethicone + Bis(C13-15 Alkoxy) PG-Amodimethicone — a specialized silicone pair. Aminopropyl Dimethicone selectively fills damaged and porous areas of the cuticle. Bis(C13-15 Alkoxy) PG-Amodimethicone creates a mirror-like surface coating responsible for the characteristic glassy shine of the Spectrum line. Together, they provide a 45% increase in smoothness and pronounced smoothing after rinsing.
5. Butyrospermum Parkii Butter (shea butter) — a nourishing component absent in the classic Vitamino Color mask. It restores the intercellular lipid layer of the cuticle, reduces dryness and brittleness, especially relevant for lightened and highlighted hair with high porosity. It is the shea butter that makes the Spectrum mask more nourishing and suitable for more damaged hair compared to the classic version.
6. Acrylates/Stearyl Methacrylate Copolymer — an acrylate copolymer with long alkyl chains. It forms a structural matrix on the hair surface that maintains the cuticle shape under the influence of humid air. One of the key components of the mask's anti-frizz protection.

Who the product is for

The mask is intended for all types of colored, highlighted, lightened, and toned hair. It is especially effective for cool shades (ash, platinum, pearl, ash blonde) prone to warming and fading, as well as for bright direct dyes — red, violet, copper. Suitable for fine and normal hair — the formula is more nourishing than the classic Vitamino Color conditioner but does not weigh hair down with proper application technique. For very dry and severely damaged hair after aggressive lightening, it is recommended to use the mask more than once a week.

How to use

After washing with Vitamino Color Spectrum shampoo, divide damp hair into four sections. Apply the mask evenly to each section from mid-lengths to ends, working it in with your fingers for even distribution. Leave on for 3–5 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Finish the treatment by applying Glass Shine Serum to damp hair before drying. Use 1–2 times a week instead of conditioner or in addition to it. For maximum results, use as part of the complete Vitamino Color Spectrum system.
