Kerastase masks

Kérastase Hair Masks — Full Range, 200 & 500 ml

A Kérastase mask is the step that decides how hair behaves for the next week. Shampoo cleanses, conditioner smooths the surface — the mask works inside the fibre, and it is where the visible difference comes from. Below is the full Kérastase mask range we stock, sorted by what each one is built to do.

Dry and dehydrated hair

Nutritive Masquintense is the hair mask for dry hair with a light white creamy texture, built for very dry fine to medium hair and enriched with plant proteins and niacinamide. For thicker very dry hair there is the richer Masquintense Riche, with conditioning polymers for instant flexibility, shine and softness. Masque Rehydratant has a light gel texture for sensitive hair prone to oily roots, making lengths easier to detangle. Apres Soleil restores and protects the hair structure from UV rays, sea and chlorinated water, keeping colour vibrant and lightness in coloured hair.

Damaged and weakened hair

Force Architecte, a hair mask for damaged hair, is an intensive strengthening treatment for brittle hair with split ends at erosion level 1-2, penetrating deep into the structure. For severe damage there is Resistance Therapiste with FIBRA-KAP™ technology and sap amino acids for deep nutrition and regeneration, ideal after chemical treatments and heat styling. Extentioniste gives intensive care to damaged thick hair, building strength as it grows. Genesis Reconstituant targets hair loss caused by breakage in weakened hair, with edelweiss stem cells and ginger root extract to nourish and detangle. Première Anti-Breakage Repairing Filler restores hair structure, smooths the surface and radically reduces breakage across all types of damaged hair.

Coloured and lightened hair

Blond Absolu Ultra-Violet nourishes bleached hair and neutralises unwanted yellowness. Blond Absolu Cicaextreme is the recovery mask for hair straight out of a bleaching or highlighting service, for sensitive lightened hair. Chroma Filler is a rich anti-porosity mask for sensitive or damaged coloured hair, best suited to thick and medium-thick hair.

Scalp, curls, density and mature hair

Specifique Argile Équilibrante is a deep-cleansing clay mask for very oily roots and sensitive hair, with a detoxifying effect from kaolin. Symbiose Intense Revitalising cares for damaged hair and a sensitive scalp prone to dandruff. Densifique Masque Densité addresses thinning hair that is losing body. Curl Manifesto Masque Beurre Haute Nutrition, enriched with manuka honey and ceramides, nourishes very curly and coiled hair while preventing breakage. Discipline Maskeratine is the anti-frizz mask: it disciplines movement without flattening hair. Discipline Oléo-Relax disciplines and smooths thick curly hair, nourishing it and adding shine. Chronologiste Régénérant is the range's anti-ageing treatment, with hyaluronic acid, the Abyssine molecule and vitamin E for hair that has lost shine and elasticity over time.

Sizes and how to use

Most masks come in 200 ml for home use and a 500 ml professional size — better value if you mask weekly, which is what Kérastase recommends for treated hair. Apply to towel-dried hair after shampoo, work through the lengths and ends, leave for 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. On fine hair, keep the mask off the roots.

Frequently Asked Questions: Kerastase masks

Which Kerastase hair mask is best for dry hair?

Nutritive Masquintense suits very dry fine to medium hair thanks to its light creamy texture, while thicker dry hair needs the richer Masquintense Riche. If the roots also tend to get oily, Masque Rehydratant with its light gel texture is the better fit.

Which mask repairs severely damaged hair?

Resistance Therapiste, with FIBRA-KAP™ technology, is built for very damaged hair and works well after chemical treatments and heat styling. Force Architecte suits brittle hair with split ends, and Première Anti-Breakage Repairing Filler radically reduces breakage across all types of damaged hair.

Is there a mask against yellow tones in lightened hair?

Yes, Blond Absolu Ultra-Violet nourishes bleached hair and neutralises unwanted yellowness. If the hair has just been lightened or highlighted and is especially sensitive, start with the recovery mask Blond Absolu Cicaextreme instead.

What suits oily roots and a sensitive scalp?

Specifique Argile Équilibrante is a deep-cleansing clay mask with kaolin for very oily roots. If the scalp is also prone to dandruff and the hair is damaged, Symbiose Intense Revitalising is the better choice.

How often should a hair mask be used and for how long?

Kérastase recommends a weekly mask for treated hair. Apply to towel-dried hair after shampoo, work through the lengths and ends, leave for 5 minutes and rinse thoroughly; on fine hair, keep the mask off the roots.
