Redken Shades ALK is a new alkaline demi-permanent hair color in a liquid-cream format, designed for situations where a more pronounced result is needed compared to a classic gloss service. The formula combines color performance with a more caring feel on the hair fiber, delivering a richer, denser, yet modern-looking result.

Shades ALK provides up to 75% gray coverage, up to 1 level of lift, and up to 8 weeks of color vibrancy. The range is designed as a complement to Shades EQ and is especially suitable for cases where a stronger color deposit, gentle lift of the natural base, or more confident blending of early gray hair is required without transitioning to permanent color.

Thanks to its alkaline pH technology, the color helps 100% oxidative dyes penetrate deeper into the hair fiber, ensuring a richer and fuller color payoff. At the same time, the formula maintains a visibly healthier hair appearance, preserving softness, movement, and shine after the service.

How to use

Mix Redken Shades ALK in a 1:1.5 ratio with Redken Pro-Oxide Cream Developer 10 Volume (3%) in a bowl or applicator bottle. Apply to zone 1 (regrowth), and for virgin application, extend to zone 2 if needed. Process for 20 minutes at room temperature without heat. Then rinse thoroughly. To complete the service, it is recommended to use Acidic Bonding Concentrate care.
